With Intent is built around a simple principle: what happens on your phone stays on your phone. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

data we do not collect

With Intent does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. There is no account, no sign-up, no cloud sync, and no backend. Specifically, the app does not collect or send:

• names, email addresses, or any account credentials
• location data
• contacts, photos, or files
• browsing or search history
• advertising identifiers or device fingerprints
• crash reports or diagnostic data to external services
• analytics of any kind to any server

The app contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no advertising frameworks.

data stored on your device

With Intent stores data locally on your phone to function. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or anyone else. It includes:

• your pause preferences — duration, frequency, and which apps trigger a pause
• basic pause statistics — how many times you paused, how many times you walked away
• your onboarding choices and settings

All of this is stored in the app's private, on-device storage. This data persists on your device until you choose to remove it. You can clear it at any time through Android's app settings by choosing “Clear data,” or by uninstalling the app. No copy exists anywhere else.

permissions and why we need them

With Intent requests a small number of Android permissions, each for a specific reason. The app uses only what is necessary and nothing more.

Required to show the pause overlay on your screen. This is how the pause appears when you unlock your phone or open a chosen app.

Used to notice when one of your chosen trigger apps comes to the foreground, so the pause can appear before it, and to read how long you have spent in that app today and this week — shown to you on the pause itself. It is also used to suggest apps you open often when you are choosing which apps should trigger a pause. This information is read on your device only; it is never stored on a server or transmitted to us or anyone else. This permission is requested only if you enable the app-pause feature.

The app listens for the standard Android unlock broadcast to know when you have unlocked your phone. No special permission is required beyond the app being installed.

With Intent runs a small background service so it can notice unlocks and app launches, and it starts again after you restart your phone. While that service is running, Android shows an ongoing notification — this is required by the system, not a message from us. The app may also show reminders, only if you choose to turn them on. None of this collects or transmits any data.

The app holds Android's standard internet permission, required by the framework it is built on and used by Google Play to process subscriptions. With Intent does not use network access to send your personal information or usage data to us or to any server — there is no server to send it to.

No permission is used for any purpose other than what is described here.

purchases and subscriptions

With Intent offers an optional subscription to unlock the ability to set pauses before chosen apps. Subscriptions are available on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis, each including a free trial, and renew automatically until cancelled. Billing is handled entirely by Google Play. With Intent does not collect, process, or store any payment information — no credit card numbers, no billing addresses, no financial data of any kind.

Google processes your payment and manages your subscription according to Google's own privacy policy. We receive only a subscription status token from Google Play to verify that the feature is active. This token is stored on your device. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time through the Google Play Store.

children

With Intent is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age, because it does not collect information at all. No data is transmitted from the app, and there are no accounts to create.

third-party services

With Intent uses Google Play Billing for subscriptions. Beyond this single integration, the app contains no third-party services, SDKs, or libraries that collect, transmit, or process user data. There are no analytics platforms, no ad networks, no social login providers, and no crash reporting services.

data sharing

With Intent does not share any data with anyone. There is no data to share. The app has no server, no database, and no mechanism to transmit information off your device.

data security

Because your data never leaves your phone, its security is governed by your device's own protections — your lock screen, encryption, and the Android operating system's app sandboxing. We do not have access to your data and cannot be compelled to produce it, because we do not possess it.

your rights

Because With Intent collects no personal data and maintains no user accounts or records, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. All data created by the app lives on your device and is fully under your control.

You can delete all app data at any time by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the app. No residual data remains on any server, because no server exists.

If you are in a jurisdiction that grants specific data-protection rights (such as the GDPR, CCPA, or similar frameworks), those rights are effectively satisfied by the app's architecture: nothing is collected, nothing is stored remotely, and nothing is shared.

changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Because With Intent does not collect email addresses or maintain user accounts, we cannot notify you directly — we encourage you to review this page periodically.

Significant changes to data practices, should they ever occur, will also be communicated through the app's Play Store listing.
